Music ownership once came at a relatively high price and level of commitment. But the first decade of the 21st century allowed music to be accessed in a myriad of new ways. From digital downloads (all legal, of course), to file sharing, to burned CDs, we were suddenly curators of our own music compilations. This led to experimentation across genres and eclecticism of tastes, for both listeners and music artists, alike.
The selection of tunes contained within this playlist may very well resemble your own compilations from yester-decade. Our favourite music compilations are burned onto a CD and still stashed at the back of our glovebox. (Speaking of which – do cars even play CDs anymore?)
