To qualify for the Hearing Services Program (HSP) in Australia, you generally need to meet one or more of the following criteria:
Hold a Pensioner Concession Card: Issued to recipients of certain government pensions, such as the Age Pension or Disability Support Pension.
Be a Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card or White Card Holder:
Receive Sickness Allowance from Centrelink: Provided to individuals temporarily unable to work due to illness or injury.
Be a Dependent of Someone in the Above Categories: Includes spouses or children of eligible individuals.
Be an Australian Defence Force Member Referred by the Disability Employment Services Program: Defence Force members referred through this program can access hearing services under the HSP.
Note: A Seniors Health Card alone does not provide eligibility. Further eligibility checks can be completed on the Department of Health’s HSP website.
